January 11th - March 9th, 2025
OUR 2024 PROGRAM HAS BEEN COMPLETED. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION BELOW FOR DETAILS ON OUR 2025 PROGRAMMING. APPLICATIONS CLOSE DECEMBER 20, 2024.
Do you want to deepen your practice or learn how to share it with others? Come grow in a supportive and nurturing community! Our 200HR program will give you the foundation to build your practice for years to come.
Throughout the program, you’ll explore:
Deepening your own personal yoga and meditation practices
Learning how to guide others through a practice (Power/Flow and Slow Stretch/Hatha)
Anatomy and its importance in yoga
How to safely and effectively sequence a class and provide adjustments
The history of yoga, yogic philosophy, Sanskrit, chakras, Pranayama (breath work) and more
The business of yoga for those interested in teaching group classes, private clientele, retreats, or other avenues
Connecting to our community through donation based classes benefiting a local group/cause, selfless service, and sharing with your peers in the program
We pride ourselves on providing an extremely high level of personal attention. Training groups are intentionally kept small, and space in each training is limited. This allows our lead instructor and other facilitators to make sure trainees are set up for success.
Here’s what some of our past participants have to say about the program:
“Teacher training at BSW was amazing! I learned so much more than I expected. Be prepared to sacrifice a lot of your free time and to come through a stronger person than you started. I took this training with no real intention of becoming an actual yoga teacher, but have enjoyed it so much that I want to see how I can keep improving and share my knowledge with others. Katy and all the instructors are amazing. You won't find the personal attention and close knit community spirit you get here at a big corporate studio! If you are on the fence about taking this training--do it now! Success is a journey, not a destination." -- Patti T.
"Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) at Body and Shine Wellness is one of the best decisions I've made in my life! I've learned so much about yoga as a personal practice, as a professional teaching yoga as well as deepening my appreciation for the philosophy and history. The staff at Body and Shine are more than capable to take any eager yogi to the next level on their yoga journey. This studio sets with bar incredibly high in terms of knowledgeable staff, professional outlook and an approachable course load that the student is supported through each step of the way. I feel mentally, physically and spiritually prepared to lead classes now. I am excited to deepen my personal practice and continue my yogic education with Body and Shine Wellness. I can't say enough about what a positive and transformative experience all of this has been. If you're thinking about getting your YTT 200 hour, look no further than Body and Shine Wellness." -- Krissy V.
"There were so many highlights to my teacher training! Katy went above and beyond to make each session engaging by working in activities and discussion. We were allowed the choice to explore areas of yoga that were of interest to us, in particular in the areas of sequencing and anatomy. Katy has a gift for explaining the purpose and expression of poses and sequencing in a way that increased my understanding of yoga a hundredfold. During the sessions, Katy clearly listened to us and was able to add extra topics and elaborate on areas of interest - this is definitely not a ‘one-size fits all’ training; it is built on a foundation of community and truly listening to what the students want and need. Expectations and evaluations were clear and my feedback was insightful and has really helped me to grow in my practice. I'm an educator by profession, and I would recommend the Body and Shine teacher training to anyone who has a passion for yoga and wants to deepen their practice while becoming part of an amazing community." -- Jen G.
"I'm very glad I chose Body + Shine Wellness over other studios I considered. I found the smaller group was more personal and I got more time to learn directly from Katy, the lead instructor, one on one instead of being just one of 30-50 trainees. Every question or concern I had was answered and I feel confident that I can be the best teacher I can be. Even if you don't want to be a teacher, pick this training--the support group alone with your trainees and with the studio are worth it and you will surprise yourself about how much you learn about yourself during this training journey." -- Dallas G.
"I came into this training with zero intentions of teaching. I have learned so much about this practice and myself that I am now compelled to share it with others. I am already planning to attend other continuing education trainings and workshops to further my knowledge and teach to others." -- Ashley D.
